Because the Taiga Cordillera is in the Arctic, there is very little human interference and tourism.

Human Activities

The Taiga Cordillera ecozone is very sparsely populated. The total population is 300. Much of the area is basically untouched wilderness. Subsistence hunting, trapping, and fishing control the local economy, though adventure tourism should not be forgotten. some mining has been done there as well.  The biggest community in the Taiga Cordillera is Old Crow, which is home to 256 people.
